Not all headaches are the same, which is why not every treatment is the same! Here at Quality Chiropractic we always utilize chiropractic adjustments to treat headaches, but the technique and area may be different depending on what your spine needs. We also utilize multiple therapeutic modalities in our office to make sure your headaches reduce as quickly as possible.
What therapies does this include? We have a general headache protocol with our therapeutic laser that might be part of your treatment plan. If your headaches are caused by TMJ dysfunction, we have a laser protocol for that as well. We also have licensed massage therapists who may do trigger point therapy to reduce muscle tension in your neck and shoulders. Lastly, interferential stimulation (e-stim) is used along with moist heat to help your muscles relax and reduce inflammation in the areas of concern. If your headaches could be improved with at-home exercises, we will also go through them together to ensure that you are doing them correctly.
At your first visit, you'll discuss your headaches with the doctor so that they can come up with an appropriate plan to treat the root cause. Although other things like over the counter medications can help reduce the pain from a headache, chiropractic care is great to get to the root issue.
